ANOTHER AMAZING EMAIL ABOUT PAT'S LIVING ROOM CONCERTS - THANK YOU!
Pat,
I recently read the "Complaint Dept." letter someone wrote you, which essentially was a ringing endorsement of you and your music.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
My problem; how do I top it?
So here goes...
The Smithereens have been my favorite band for 20 years.
My wife was somewhat apathetic about the band and their music, going to their concerts or to Pat's shows to appease me.
Then one day she told me she had been reading some Smithereens lyrics online.
She then told me she understood why The Smithereens were my favorite band.
Because everything Pat was writing was how I felt about her, but I couldn't say it because I'm not a songwriter.
The words to "A Girl Like You" or "Especially For You" weren't just catchy phrases to sing along to in the car.
They were the feeling I have for my wife, and now she realized it.
Pat Dinizio and The Smithereens were the vehicle through which I conveyed my thoughts and feelings about the woman I love.
Last year Pat played in our living room for our 25th anniversary.
After the first song I turned to my wife and told her if he didn't play another note it was already worth it.
How do you top a night like that?
I'll tell you how.
You have Pat come back the next year and play again.
If anyone is thinking about a "Living Room Concert" with Pat, DO IT!
The overwhelming response to the two shows we've hosted was "Unbelievable"!
Do it while you can, because you don't want this opportunity to pass you by.
Pat, I felt compelled to write this note to you because your music literally made my life better.
I appreciate you, your band, your music, and everything you've done for me.
